​​Agar Agar: Derived from seaweed. It is used to thicken formulas especially shampoos since it locks in moisture, hydrates, prevents split ends, reduces dandruff, while creating volume. It also moisturizes very dry skin and creates a long lasting skin barrier.

 

​Allantoin: Derived from bearberry and comfrey, there is synthetic versions but we don't use the synthetic form. It is used to moisturize dry, rough, scaly, and itchy skin. It has been used to address irritations such as: diaper rash, and skin burns from radiation therapy. It soften the skin and soothes it naturally. ​​

​

Azulene 100% (Guaiazulene by Katonah): Derived from blue chamomile. It is pure concentrated chamomile oil soluble.

​

Azulene 20% ( by Katonah): This ingredient is hydrosoluble which allows us to have blue azulen successfuly in water based formulas. The use Pure Azulene mixed with polysorbate-20 (which is used in food) and PEG-40 (Hydronated Castor Oil)

Baking Soda: "It can relieve minor irritation, pain, itching, and redness." - WebMD 

It can reduce pigmentation because it has bleaching properties. It has Antibacterial which can have positive results on skin irritations such eczema, psoriasis, acne. It also help reduce odour which why we use it in our feminine wash and deodorants. It removes excess oil and surface dirt and pollutants including dead skin. In helps in balancing skin complexion.

Camphor: Something this strong it is shocking that it is counterirritant it has the power to reduce pain and swelling. This ingredient has many wonderful properties including increasing blood circulation, improve breathing and lung issues and even heart symptoms. It is used in eardrops and to treat small burns. It reduces itchiness and kills surface bacteria and demodex mites. It is anti-fungal and anti-bacterial and used to treat skin infections. It removes dark spots. According to Nih.gov "The antiaging property of camphor has been shown to boost the proliferation and antisenescence effects of human primary dermal fibroblast cells, as well as block UV-induced wrinkles in mouse skin [17]. Camphorquinone (CQ) is a bicyclic monoterpene (1,7,7-Trimethylbicyclo[2.2."  Since it is anti-inflammatory 

it reduces redness and reduces acne and oil build up.

Cetyl Alcohol: Ours is derived from Palm Oil and is vegan. Also used as a safe food additive. It creates a beautiful hydrated matte finish for the skin that few waxes can achieve.

Citric Acid: So we do not believe in synthetic Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), HOWEVER Citric Acid is a natural pure form of AHA.. That means it comes with the well known properties associated with AHA:

• Reduces Acne and Acne Scars

• Brightens the skin and tones the skin

• Helps the skin maintain hydration

• Reduce the visibility of wrinkles and fine lines

• Anti-Aging

• Stimulates and encourages Collagen and Elastin production

• Reduces Breakouts and Blemishes

• Reduces the appearance of Liver Spots and other hyperpigmentation

• Prevents sun damages to a degree

• Deep cleans and unclogs pores

• Improves and softens skin texture

• Increases product absorption 

We use this ingredient in very few products.

Corn Starch: Derived from.. Well.. Corn! Skin benefits include instant lightening and whitening. Because it is rich in vitamins and minerals it reduces pigmentation, dark spots, brightens the skin tone while rejuvenating and revitalizing the skin and promoting overall health. It absorbs excess oils, reduces irritations, and protects your skin from free radicals, it helps dead skin to be eliminated and keep healthy skin healthy longer. It has been used for a l to treat sunburns. It is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial. Hair benefits are that this ingredient is rich in many nutrients.

Cremephor A6, A25, RH40: These ingredients are used in vitamins, oral products and in some foods needing extra moisture and softness. Internationally approved for being non-toxic and safe for consumers.

• A6:  Is a combination of stearyl Alcohol derived from coconut and palm oil, and Ceteareth-6 is derived from oils. These ingredients create a fatty chain that moisturizes the skin and truly creates a soothing rich cream that will leave your skin feeling flawless. This ingredients acts a natural binder that and prevent the skin from losing moisture. It is used to keep oils and water combined in formulas

• A25:   Is Cetyl Stearyl Polyether-25 derived from coconut oil. It leaves the skin hydrated and soft. It locks in moisture and prevents the skin from flaring up. It is used to keep oils and water combined in formulas

• RH40:   Is made from Castor Oil and Ethylene Oxide ( apples, bananas, avocados, melons, pears, and tomatoes create this compound). It is a liquid stabilizer so ethanol or aqua based formulas can merge, including liquid soaps, it keeps the molecules together. We use this ingredient only in our toners. It is commonly used in vitamins and not even mentioned on the ingredient list. This product is also used in baby care products and is considered safe up to concentrations of 100%. The only thing to keep in mind is that this ingredient contains Castor Oil which is consider unsafe while pregnant or breast feeding, as it penetrates the skin and enters the blood stream and castor oil is used to induce labor.

Cocopolyglucoside (alkyl glucoside) : Is derived from a few ingredients, coconuts, potatoes, corn or wheat. We use either the coconut or potato derived ones because they have really wonderful properties. Potatoes are rich in phosphorus, Sulphur, Vit V, Copper, Phytonutrients, Calcium, Iron, Vit B, and Potassium.  Potato reduces acne, brightens the skin, lightens dark circles, reduces blemishes on the skin and fades hyperpigmentation. When its turned in to glucoside it becomes a nonionic surfactant they really deep cleans, is hypoallergenic and is fantastic for sensitive skin types. It reduces body odor when used in shampoos and cleaning solutions.  More importantly this ingredient is ecofriendly reducing environmental contamination since this is made from the sugars of coconut and potatoes. What truly makes this ingredient unique is that is provides a truly deep clean while it still has the ability to hydrate and retain moisture unlike other surfactants that strip and dry out the skin and hair this ingredient rather keeps moisture secured and keeps your hair and skin healthy. It is biodegradable and is pH neutral meaning it is great for feminine washes. Does this ingredient smell pretty??? ..... Well, No. We cannot lie.. You will always get a hidden aroma of potato in any product it is in.. SORRY.. That's unfortunately the cost for healthy beauty.

Coloring: We use colorings from Sensient and they offer wide varieties of pigmentations that are safe for eyes, lips and face/body. They have made it their mission to ensure their products are safe for the consumer and environment. We use pearl Mica for our foundations. Normally we use the fresh ingredients to pigment our products but sometimes mother nature can be in a dull mood and well we need to try to match the norm of what our clients expect our products to look like.

Clays: We use a wide variety of clays depending the formula.

​

• Bentonite Clay: "Bentonite clay works like a sponge on your skin. It absorbs dirt and oil, like sebum. Too much sebum can lead to acne. The antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties may help your skin heal."  - WebMD  It Extracts blackheads and exfoliates dead skin.​

• French Clay: All french clays tightens and tones and reduces the size of pores and absorb excess oil.

Beige: Tones and Purifies

Caramel: Cleansing and balancing

Green: Toning and firming. Anti-aging

Grey Moss: Increases Blood Circulation and Toning

Ivory: Relaxation, Refreshing and Toning

Mineral Grey:  Purifying and Detoxing

Nude Beige: Advance Pore Closing, exfoliation and skin glow enhancement

Pastel Pink: Refresher, Exfoliator, absorbs oil best. 

Peach: Revitalizing and rejuvenating while detoxifies the skin

Pink: Reduces breakouts, blackheads, blemishes and prevents them from reoccurring.

Red: Tones and absorbs excess oil. Ideal for oily skin

Soft Moss: Tones, firms, and rejuvenates.

• ​Fuller's Earth: This is a beautiful ingredient that has powerful calming and anti-inflammatory properties. It detoxifies, and purifies the skin while soothing dry skin disorders such as eczema, psoriasis and rosacea. It has been used to treat sunburns while reducing skin pigmentation.​

• Red Clay: This product is high in iron, and it deeply cleanses pores, while enriching the skin with nutrients. It stimulates the skin while toning and firming. This clay is powerful to rid the skin of toxins and impurities.​

• Rhassoul Clay: Highly absorbent which results in hydrated but matte skin without any shine. It deeply and thoroughly cleanses the skin and tightens pores. It has more of a grainy texture making it more exfoliant which helps eliminate blackheads and clogged pores. ​

• Diatomaceous Earth: We use this only in our make-up instead of talc powder, since it healthier and safer for your health. It brightens the skin and make it look healthier especially with repeated use and it actually unclog pores unlike most powders.

​

Ethanol: due to regulations we cannot use consumption grade alcohol in cosmetics but we use the safety internationally used toxic free ethanol. We use it in our toners, sanitizers, hair gels and specialized products requiring it. 

​

Exfoliants: We use different forms of exfoliant grains for our products. The number is the mesh size of the grain, the smaller the number the smaller the grain size, the larger the number the larger the grain size. 30-200 (lip safe), 200-500 (face and body), 500-1000 (Body safe).

• Bamboo 100, 200, 500, 1000: Bamboo is amazing for collagen production, high in silica, increases blood circulation, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, astringent, and encourages cell repair.

• Bitter Orange 1000: anti-fungal, antibacterial, and great for addressing skin infections. Bitter  Orange Peel Oil has been used to treat ringworm, jock itch, athlete's foot and much more.

• CelluloScrub 300: 100% renewable and biodegradable. 

• Luffa 30: gentle exfoliator that doesn't cause scratches or irritations.

• Lychee 500: exfoliates while having the properties to encourage healthier brighter skin. 

• Olive 200: Exfoliates while protecting the skin while encouraging anti-aging

• Peach 700: Encourages hydration, makes the skin softer, Infuses the product with fatty acids such as oleic and linoleic acid.

• Pomegranate 500: Promotes healthier skin with its antimicrobial and astringent properties. It is fabulous for dry skin types.

• Pumice Stone (Fine): Treats hard calluses areas without being a biohazard like other synthetic cosmetic grains.

• Quartz 200: Improves circulation, reduces puffiness, encourages lymphatic drainage

• Rhyolite 75: infuses the product with minerals that will increase the formula to address, dryness, wrinkles, aging, dullness, puffiness, and sagging. This grain encourages elasticity and vibrancy. It rejuvenates and enhances the skin. It is the ideal mineral for regenerating the skin and smoothing the epidermis without affecting the hydrolipidic film

• Sand 300: We use natural sand (contains salt) for the formulas that we try to make more cost affordable for the consumer while ensuring we have an environmentally safe grain so at times it can create water content at the top of a product, but it is still good.

• Volcano Sand 300: It is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-yeast. Making it an ideal grain since it boosts skin strength and resilience, promotes collagen and elastin.

Fragrance Oils: YES, we do need to add fragrance oils to our formulas in most cases because when the products concentrate they can start to smell herby so by adding a small amount (anywhere from 0.07-1.9%) of fragrance oils ensures the product smells lovely for years to come. We use fragrance oils that have been approved for cosmetics. PLEASE NOTE: We will never ever use fragrance oils to any eye products, lip products or feminine products.. NEVER.​​

Geogard: is an ecocert approved product used in many different ways and categories. It is internationally approved as safe for external and internal uses. Though our ingredients (oils, butters and extracts) have natural preservative properties; Geogard simply adds another level of ultra 

​

Glycerin: Well, glycerin is amazing for everything!!! For hair it keeps it healthy and shiny and adds volume when formulated correctly, it prevents scalp irritations and dryness. It is a great emollient because it is a humectant making sure moisture is not loss. It is commonly used in nail care as well. It keeps the skin soft and hydrated while allowing the other ingredients (extracts, oils, butters, and fresh ingredients properties enter the skin easier). It fights infections, aids in wound healing, reducing scars, it fights of irritants and microbes, it antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral properties and has strong sanitizing abilities at times more so than ethanol. This ingredient is a must for any skin type. We use a vegetable glycerin. 

​

Guar Gum: Is amazing to lock in moisture and create a thicker film on the skin they keeps hydrating the skin while keeping it silky smooth. It keeps the skin and hair soft and smooth. It is used in shaving products as well because it reduces friction preventing ingrown hairs, redness, and irritations. It extends the shelf life of products. It also keeps skin cells linked closely together promoting rejuvenation and cellular healing. It also has surfactant properties so it keeps your skin cleans and prevents the skin getting dirty through out the day since it has healing properties even for wounds but it fights environmental pollutions including free radicals with its antioxidant properties. It hydrates hair and prevents split ends and moisture loss while creating a shiny but clean look. It keeps hair healthy.

Kaolin Light: Kaolin Clay has been used for a long time to treat sensitive skin, allergenic skin types while offering soothing, exfoliating, treats blemishes and acne, reduces black heads and clogged pores, removes surface dirt and impurities and environmental impurities, it naturally cleanses the skin, evens complexion, brightens the skin and softens the skin. It reduces redness, irritations, and dryness while it tightens and tones the skin. It is used in mouth care products to brighten and whiten teeth and protect enamel.

​

Light Magnesium: This fine powder works wonders for the skin by reducing inflammation and sensitivities preventing irritations and reactions and acne. This powder keeps your skin hydrated, creates a protective barrier giving you a flawless radiant smooth skin. It is antiaging since it stimulates collagen production and reducing the appearance of wrinkles and tones the skin creating a natural face lift effect. It protects your skin from external damages  and stimulates skin regeneration.

Menthol Crystals:  This ingredient is amazing for oily skin types!! It is powerful in soothing in so many ways, such as: relief from respiratory problems such as asthma in particular. It soothes itching, redness, acne, eczema, rashes, sunburns, warts and yeast rashes. It is actually proven to be an excellent anti-candida ingredient. We use it also in our house spray and cleaning products because its pest deterrent properties especially for dust mites that increase asthma symptoms. Menthol is commonly used to treat nasal congestion, sore throats, and help with fever symptoms and coughs.

​

Mono Glycerin: Ours is a food grade quality ingredient used in breads and anything needing that soft bouncy, moist texture. It has been internationally approved as safe for eating and ultra safe for the skin since it adds an extra moisturizer barrier for the skin in a unique and restorative way.

​

Potato Starch: This ingredient isn't in large amount of our products because even though it buffs away dead skin with its ability to exfoliate but it does have the potential with long term use to clog pores which we keep in mind when formulating.. Even if it has the ability to increase skin elasticity, firm and tone the skin, dramatically reduce wrinkles and fine lines and cause rapid rejuvenation with its high vitamin and mineral content we make exclusive products with this ingredient so it can be used on the weekly bases but not on the daily bases to ensure you reap its benefits but your skin doesn't get saturated. This ingredient actually has natural bleaching properties so it reduces pigmentations dramatically. We do use this ingredient in our shampoos because when it is used on the regular bases on the hair it prevents and reverse premature greying. It stimulates hair growth and nourishes the follicles.​​​​​

Rice Flour:  We use this primarily in our shampoos because this ingredient is amazing at strengthening hair because it is rich in zinc enabling hair growth, hair repair, hair density, hair shine while reducing hair loss and split ends. It also exfoliates enough to remove excess oil and pollutions from your scalp without stripping it. When it comes to the skin this ingredient is anti-inflammatory rich in antioxidants meaning it also helps with reducing pigmentation and brightens the skin naturally and evens your skin tones. It is anti-aging and protects from UV rays and hydrates the skin with its matte protective barrier. ​​

Salicylic Acid:  Derived from the bark of white willow and wintergreen leaves. is amazing for addressing skin concerns: blemishes, it treats acne by reducing redness and swelling, it purges the pores and unblocks pores so your skin can breath and allow pimples to shrink. It reduces blackheads and allows pores to not be so noticeable. It also is used for dry skin types that need to shed dead skin and reduce scaly thickened skin creating soft, beautiful glow and texture. It has also been used in veterinary medicine to treat skin rashes, ringworm and other skin conditions that can plague your pets. It is considered a safe ingredient for daily use. It is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-infective. Please DON'T use while pregnant

Sepizen Max: Is a gelling ingredient that allows us to create gels with a beautiful satin finish. It is approved for internal and external use. The safest gelling ingredients on the market and doesn’t suffocate the skin like xanthum gum or agar agar or other food grade ingredients.
It is hypoallergenic and hydrating. tit​

Sweet Potato Starch: Not every potato is the same and well, there is some sweet benefits from Sweet Potato Starch. It is packed with vitamins and minerals, enzymes and antioxidants (especially Beta-carotene) which encourages collagen production which leads to anti-aging, toning and firming of the skin. It hydrates and keeps the skin vibrant and reduces inflammation, blotchiness, dryness, chap and rough skin textures and promotes a soft, supple, rejuvenated skin texture.  This ingredient is also protects the skin from UV damage and environmental hazards. 

​

Titanium Dioxide: Don't let the name scare you. this ingredient is amazing to prevent sun burns and sun damage since it helps to reflect and scatter UVA and UVB rays. It is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic.

​

Vanilla: is a excellence source of Vitamin B which encourages healthy vibrant skin. Vanilla protects your skin from environmental hazards and damage. It has antibacterial properties, it also reduces and soothes breakouts as well reduce the appearance of scars. Promotes blood flow, encourages hair growth while helping soothe dry skin symptoms and irritations.

Xanthum Gum: The shield of gums it shields the skin from moisture loss, and stopping trans-epidermal water loss which means you will not experience dryness or skin dehydration. We use this ingredient as a thickener especially for formulas that intended for dry skin or dry and damaged hair. It is a safe ingredient and is commonly used in personal lubricants. This ingredient also whitens and conditions the skin but we don't use it in many formulas that are intended for daily use since we want to ensure one doesn't experience clogged pores.

Zinc Oxide: ...ohhhhh..... My personal favorite ingredient out of this list. This product is great for babies to pets there isn't anything is can't do in my opinion. We use it in our Tooshie Smooth for babies to our sun care products, to our cream mask and as a side not when one of my pets get a rash I grab a jar of tooshie smooth add some black salt and garlic and licorice root blend it all up and apply and the rash is gone in two days. It is great for the treatment of melasma or dark spots. It restores the skin barrier and heals wounds and burns, cuts, diaper rash, and irritations. It controls excess oil production. It is antibacterial and antiseptic and anti-inflammatory.​​​
